Did Tuff cover this yet? Doesn't matter I'm not looking through half a thousand news posts. Anyways here is a couple fun facts about the series from the co creator.

Yuma and Akari was originally going to be a movie. In one draft Tuff decided to weeb further beyond and have the entire thing take place in Japan, we changed it to North America so we could present the setting from a more experienced perspective. We took inspiration from films such as earth to echo and Mitchells vs Machines, both movies have antagonists that inspired the idea of the main antagonistic faction: Anti-Fur.

Speaking of... there was a point where Anti-Fur wasn't part of the equation at all. I pitched the idea that scaly aliens were responsible for Yuma and Akari fleeing from their planet and arriving to earth, and so they would try to hunt them down later, which would lead to a horror survival brawl between a pack of these aliens and Yuma, Akari and their human buds.

Yuma and Akari would have had completely different characteristics, Yuma being a cold blank faced cyborg while Akari is the cheerful and positive one.

We have quite a bit of unfinished scripts, only like two pages on each document, so yeah, not much content to cover.
